William
J. Anderson
William J. Anderson has been Vice President and Chief
Engineer of Nastec, Inc. since his retirement as Chief of the Mechanical
Technologies Branch at NASA's Lewis Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
During his 30 year career at NASA, Mr. Anderson
became an
international expert on the lubrication, friction, and wear of bearings,
gears, and seals, and their component materials. He has further
distinguished himself as one of the world's leading authorities
on roller and
roller gear transmissions. Mr. Anderson has published in excess of 100 NASA
and technical society papers, and has coauthored three books.
In
addition, Mr. Anderson has played a policy making role in
numerous professional
engineering societies. He has been a lecturer and teacher at 10 universities
in the United States and England, and has been awarded numberous
professional honors including the STLE National Award (Life Member), NASA
Medal for Exceptional Achievement, Fellow of the Society of Tribologists
and Lubrication Engineers, the STLE Alfred E. Hunt Best Paper Award, and
Fellow, American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
William
J. Anderson holds seven patents on rolling element and fluid film
bearings, and traction drives. He has shared two I.R. 100 Research
Awards.
Bill
Anderson earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from M.I.T., Summa Cum Laude,
and an M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University,
Magna
Cum Laude. |
